Tallow is very ill....

I´m writing on behalf of Tallow and to thank all those people who took the time to send out positive thoughts for my big girl.

She went to the vet yesterday for an ear flushing and dentistry work done. She also had to have a nasty cough checked. Sadly, Tallow has been diagnosed with congestive heart failure. There is no cure, but there is medication to prolong and allow some quality to her life.

Tallow´s ears and teeth were not done as the vet felt it was to high risk to give anesthetic due to the enlarged heart. She had 2 chest X-rays and an ultra sound. Her heart is 3 times the normal size.

Tallow is 12 years and 8 months old. Naturally, this news has given me quite a shock as I didn´t for one minute think she had heart problems.

She must go back to the vet in 2 weeks to have another ultra sound to see how the heart is coping with the medication.

Once again, thank you to all the people who´ve held Tallow in their hearts over the last 2 very gruelling days.

OH Tallow! I´m so sorry to hear about your illness! It makes my heart sad to know that you are not feeling well and have to take nasty meds. to keep you up. Please feel better and make it less necessary to eat those pills so often. I´ve got my paws crossed for you and so does Boomer.
