Today our Kuya Dob took me and Kulit to the local vet office. It´s gonna be a long walk to get there so we started early. Kulit and I had a grand time watching the things around and all the dogs that were barking along the way. After a long walk we finally arrived. Wow!!! lots of dogs there, big and small and huge. Some barking with excitement, some silent with fear. Kulit was kinda nervous but I assured her that nothing bad is gonna happen to her as long as she´s with me. I´m her protector. Our Kuya Dob led us to one corner and asked us to sit, stay and behave as he filled up the registration form. Me and Kulit just sat there watching all the other dog. Some boys there were having their eyes on Kulit. Kulit was again getting nervous. I barked, "NO WAY GUYS, THIS GAL IS WITH ME. DON´T GET NO NAUGHTY IDEAS COZ I´LL TURN INTO UNDERDOG." I´m not really UNDERDOG, he´s a beagle and i´m not but he´s my pal and my idol. I heard one of the guys say, "OH NO, UNDERDOG IS HERE. WE BETTER BEHAVE." See, I fooled them again. By that time, Kuya Dob returned and asked us to come with him to these guy with the needle. I turned to Kuya Dob and asked, "IS THE NEEDLE KINDA LONG THESE TIME AROUND?" He gave me a gentle pat reaasuring me that it´s the same and it´s not gonna hurt. Like a brave dog that I am, I went first and the guy with the needle gently inserted the needle on my back. There you go, he said. "IS THAT IT?", I asked. "I COULD TAKE A DOZEN MORE OF THAT. KEEP IT COMING. I´M UNDERDOG." Then it was Kulit´s turn. I assured her again that it was not painful. I´ve been protecting her specially now that she´s been kinda sick. Then it was all over. Kuya Dob took us out and we rested for awhile before our journey home. Just a few meters away on our journey home, a commotion broke out. There was this big dog who got loosed from his owner who was kinda old. The big dog started attacking the other dogs there. We didn´t mind it and continued our walk. All of a sudden, the big naughty dog was hot on our trail. I barked a warning to Kuya Dob. Kuya Dob asked us to stay behind him as he confronted the big dog. I could take on that dog if Kuya Dob did not ask me to stay back. That dog could have tasted UNDERDOG´S might. It was go away and back again for that dog for awhile. Kinda Pesky dog. We stood our ground and finally the dog gave up, ran away, realizing he´s not gonna get us as long as Kuya Dob is here to protect us. We continued our journey home. Kulit and I were smilin´, laughing and enjoying our trek with Kuya Dob. And at last, it was home sweet home. Kuya Dob asked us to rest before we drink water and gave us our favorite doggie biscuits. Today, we learned again and was reassured that Kuya Dob is always here for us, protect us, and that no bad things can happen to us as long as he is there. He´s our friendly neighboorhood SPIDERMAN (he´s favorite superhero). Whew!!! That was a long story. Bye Guys.
