I notice that some of the threads here show people chatting and its all great fun. Wouldnt it be an idea to have a live chat room.

I tried to look for previous link in the forum about a chatroom but couldn´t find it If my memory serves me well then the majority of members were against it as it would detract attention from the dogs and onto the chatroom.

I personally was against it as we have doggiemail and when good friends with another member we have e-mail,facebook etc When really good friends we have the telephone

We have discussed the idea of a chat room previously

It would take a lot of moderating and as there a lot of young children use the site, they would be chatting to people who they do not know and this was a big concern with a lot of users that those children may give personal ifnormation to complete strangers and who knows there that may lead, espically in today´s society

I have found another thread where the idea of a chat room was discussed. If you wish to view the comments of the other users who posted, please visit http://en.uniteddogs.com/forum/19/fl/57/t/1858

I would be against a chatroom on this website . Comments and the forum are fine to ´chat´ and then there are doggie emails for more personal stuff between UD members and for other contact, FaceBook and the like. I also take on board Sharon´s view about children - you don´t want to even open the door to that sort of thing. UD is great the way it is. I it

I was against a chatroom on UD, for the very reasons Sharon and Baybie pointed out. I think its fine as it is. There are other ways to chat personally. Like MSN, or Yahoo whatever.
