I have a 2 year+ old American Cocker Spaniel. I just noticed that her left eye is cloudy. Brought her to the vet and she told me that if I were to send my dog for an operation it would be a highly risky procedure cos they got to stop the dogs heart or something like that. So the vet also gave me some drops to put to prevent further deterioration but would not heal it. Now I saw online that they have this new type of eye drops for curing cataracts but i have to order it from the U.K. It´s called Nu-Eyes. anybody heard of this? And also anyone who experienced this before with their dog please give me some advice like did ya manage to restore your dogs vision or whatever else I can do...Thanks

I have a dog who actually hurt his eye from rubbing it on the carpet due to allergies, Brodie is only 4 years old and when this happened was only 2. One day my boyfriend noticed his dogs eye was cloudy and shiny, he called me worried and I took him to the vet. He told me he had gone blind in his right eye, and that the only thing we could do to restore it was to have the surgery done as well. He said he could still see dark shadows of things out of that eye, and we just don´t have the money that it cost right now for the surgery....it is VERY Expensive. The vet had also given us drops that we had used for a year. Our dog does just fine with seeing out of his one eye, infact I know he can see slightly out of the other one just not very much. Our dog is very happy and healthy, and doesn´t have any problems with just having perfect vision out of one eye. He is confident, will still go on walks, play, run around the house as fast as he can. He does have a little problem jumping on furniture and such, we just got him doggy stairs for our bed, and it just takes him a couple of times to jump on the couch. But besides that he has no problems, or other health issues. And having a dog with one eye he can´t see out of doesn´t bother us. It just adds to his personality!! It makes Brodie who he is. I think I would only do the surgery if he was having problems, or if it had happened in both eyes. If it ever does happen to the other eye I would proabably have the surgery done then.
