What is wrong with Doenja?

Thursday night something weird happened to Doenja.
It was around 20.00-20.30 and it was time for her daily snack. She was lying on the floor, and when you open the cabinet to get the snack she stands behind you pretty quickly. Not this time.

She didn´t respond to anything. She couldn´t stand up either. It looked like her mind was somewhere else. A few minutes later we tried again. Still no response. We tried to make her stand up, but we saw that she had pain in one of her paws. She was also shaking a little bit. She couldn´t stay up, so she lied down again. Still not responding to her name, nothing.

My parents said, this is enough. We are going to the vet!
So they went to the emergeny vet clinic. There she "came back to earth" . The vet told us that she had a sort of black out. It wasn´t a bleeding in her brain. She also had a small infection in her paw, so she got a injection for that. When she came home, she behaved normal. It is so weird. Now she behaves like nothing happened.

I was terrified that evening. She is now 10 years old, so I was afraid that something was wrong with her. I´m so happy that she ok now!!

Does anyone have a dog, who had the same thing? How did you deal with this?

That sounds similar to what happened to my husband´s GSD (guard dog) at work. All of a sudden, he couldn´t move and just staring straight ahead. When he snapped out of it mentally, he couldn´t get his hind end up...like he was paralyzed. They put him in the truck and rushed him to the vet...by the time they got there, he was fine again, running around, wondering what all the fuss was about...vet said it was a stroke. He had 2 more within a couple weeks and then was fine...he passed away 2 years later of natural causes at 14 years old!

One of my rescues Chloe did the same (she was a Pit Bull American Bulldog x) She was fine, came over to me started breathing heavy then she just dropped. She layed there for awhile unresponsive with a blank stare. I flipped out. This was at 1:00 in the morning and we don´t have a 24 hour vet around here. She finally came out of it but was acting out of it (kind of drunk) a few hours later she was back to normal and acting like nothing happened. My vet said he thought she had a seizure. My brothers beagle is epileptic and about once a month she will drop over kind of like Chloe did but she will convulse and pee
