11.August 2008 03:17

My heart goes out to all the Georgian people who have already lost loved one´s and although I sincerely doubt it will happen, I wish that this conflict is over sooner than it started

11.August 2008 03:36

WHAT!? I didn´t know there was a war! How long has this been going on?

11.August 2008 03:43

hmmmm, it started about a week ago (i think.....)
my cousin´s wife is from georgia and she was there for two weeks, came back three days before the war started, but she´s hell worried cause her parents/sisters, etc live there
i have no idea who started this or who´s right or wrong, just truly hope it is soon over, it´s such a pity civilians got killed

11.August 2008 03:50

I think all the people should, if not love, respcet each other, respect their country, respect their territories, respect their culture... etc...

11.August 2008 17:45

I agree with peachy

11.August 2008 17:45 | changed 11.August 2008 13:47

I´m not on anyone´s ´side´ as such but if I had to say who was to blame, I´d say Russia (no offence to my russian friend Valentine!)

11.August 2008 17:45

My prayers are with the Georgian people. I pray that thier allies will stand with them.

11.August 2008 18:18

It´s a conflict like so many territorial ones: There´s a part of Georgia with majority Russian population that now wants to separate from Georgia. It´s ridiculous really, borders are borders no matter who lives between them: it´s like part of Florida decides to become Cuba all of a sudden or part of London decides to become Pakistan...
Unfortunately for Georgia they have Russians as enemies, and that small country can´t handle it- and other countries don´t wanna make an official statement, I guess they´re afraid of the consequences considering the big war (and nuclear!) force Russia is.
My heart goes to Georgians, unfortunately I´ve been through a war and I wish no one would have to go through that- especially kids like I was.

11.August 2008 18:40

Thank you nikana, that is a very good explanation. I wish no one would have to go through it either.

11.August 2008 18:42

God protects us! It´s horrible! Poor people! Unfortunately, first Georgia atacked Osetia with troops; so, the Russians have the pretext for the war...nobody tells that in Osetia there is a petroleum pipe route, the real cause of this awful action. Too bad, so sad!

11.August 2008 18:50 | changed 11.August 2008 14:51

Osetia is part of Georgia, and they didn´t attack it but sent military to protect Georgian civilians from more and more aggressive Russian extremist.
Meanwhile, Russia is bombing the WHOLE country now with 80 war planes.

Oil or not, as I said: borders are borders- you can´t just DECIDE to separate from a country whose borders are determined on official world geopolitical map.

Oh yes, they could and they would...in our country there was the same with Moldova...unfortunately they could anything, no matters if we are talking and militate for peace...sorry for all the innocent.
