Never been there, but it looks beautiful.
Our mountain doesn´t look so high either - perhaps because we already live high.
But it´s great running - no need to be on leash

Can´t say, as I´ve never been to Rome. Paris is great out of the season, but we live in a small village on the Swiss border. We venture from time to time to the other side of the M-B tunnel: life seems pretty much the same but for the language and some better taste in clothing on the Italian side.

A propos cats - we always wanted to have both. As we knew that dobermanns are not the cats best friends, we asked breeders and vet. And got first the cat. Sherman came, when the cat was an adult and self assured cat ruling the house, As a puppy he found himself at lower level in the family and had to accept it. The cat used all his powers to intimidate the dog, so Sherman has respect for him, but still - only for him. Any other cat is a pray he chases - funny enough - the cat seems to enjoy the fact that Sherman wipes out his competitors.
With some breeds cat and dog have to grow up together - otherwise it is just like you describe with Ludo and your mothers cat.

I have the general impression that the whole of western Europe heads that way - must have something to do with "globalisation". If France is better off at the moment, it´s only temporary -all those countries are in dire need of reforms but everyone is afraid to do anything. So, cheer up - I´m not very happy either, but I´ve seen worse.

I´d like to say: good, but it´s raining right now - and I´ve got a lot to do in the garden.
Sherman is mopping: the last 2 days we had wonderful weather, long walks in the mountain, playing in a little stream with his buddy, running in the garden chasing ball and now - the sofa!!!
